Professor Abu Bakr Siddique, chairman of Microbiology and Immunology Department of Sylhet Agriculture University, died of coronavirus on Saturday night.
According to the Public Relations department of the university, Prof Abu Bakr had been undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital since he was infected with coronavirus and he died there on Saturday night.
Prof Abu Bakr Siddique held various important positions, including the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences of Sylhet Agricultural University and Director of Finance and Accounts of the university during his long colourful career.
