The SC bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain, passed “no order” following an appeal filed by the state seeking a stay order on the HC order.
Advocate Motaher Hossain Saju stood for the teacher while Deputy Attorney General Biswajit Debnath represented the state.
On May 17, 2018, Asaduzzaman Tanvir, former joint secretary of Chhatra League’s Fatikchhari upazila unit, lodged the complaint with the court of Magistrate Abu Salem Md Noman of Metropolitan Court-2.
After the permission of the government and the Home Ministry, a case was filed against Anwar Hossain on July 23 this year with the Panchlaish police station in Chattogram.
Later, the High Court on August 24 granted Anwar Hossain six weeks bail in the case.
