She breathed her last at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital around 11am.

Eshrat Jahan was an officer from the 34th BCS batch. She was posted in APBn-11 Uttara.
She recently joined duty after recovering from Covid-19 but some complications arose. As her condition deteriorated, Eshrat was admitted to Asgar Ali Hospital on January 16 and was later shifted to the ICU.

ASP Eshrat contracted Covid-19 while on duty.
Inspector General of police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed mourned Eshrat’s death and conveyed his condolences to her family.

Thousands of members of Bangladesh police were infected with Covid-19 while on duty as the country went into a virtual lockdown to tackle the virus’ transmission and many of them died.
