Train communication between Sylhet and other parts of the country was restored after 23 hours of suspension on Sunday after a freight train derailed at Satgaon Railway Station in Sreemangal upazila of Sylhet.
Dulal Chandra Das, Railway Assistant Engineer of Kulaura zone, said the rail communication resumed at 12 pm.
Seven bogies of a fuel oil- laden train derailed at 11:45 am on Saturday as rail tracks of 500 meters were damaged, he said.
A five-member probe body has been formed to investigate the cause of the accident which was asked to submit its report within seven working days, said Bangladesh Railway Divisional Officer Md Moinul Hossain.
