Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested two alleged drug dealers along with 8,400 contraband Yaba pills from Noabazar in the city early Friday.
The arrestees were identified as Mostaque Ahmed, 30, and Jamir Uddin, 24.
Sources at the Rab-10 battalion headquarters said a team of the elite force, led by its Company Commander Major Anisuzzaman, conducted a drive at Nabab Yusuf Market of Noabazar around 5:30 am.
During the drive, the elite force arrested the two drug traders along with 8,400 Yaba tablets, one microbus and Tk 7,500 in cash.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees revealed that they used to bring Yaba consignments from Cox’s Bazar and distribute those in Dhaka and its nearby areas.
