He said the Prime Minister brought stability in the country and its political arena apart from peacefully resolving issues with countries through discussions and dialogue.
The Foreign Minister made the remarks while speaking at a special discussion titled “Leadership of Sheikh Hasina and Bangladesh’s March Forward” held virtually on Saturday night.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, MP, Chairman, International Affairs Sub Committee, Bangladesh Awami League Ambassador Muhammad Zamir, International Affairs Secretary, Bangladesh Awami League Dr Shammi Ahmed and diplomats stationed in Dhaka took part in the discussion.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Barrister Shah Ali Farhad moderated the discussion organised by AL International Affairs Sub Committee.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr Momen said the government is a very business-friendly one and the businesspeople are very happy as they are doing businesses without any political disruptions.
He said the poor people, women, rural people and students are also happy with the Prime Minister's leadership.
Dr Momen wished that the Prime Minister would be leading the country in many more years to achieve her goals and her father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's dream of building ‘Sonar Bangla’, a prosperous and stable Bangladesh.
He said there will be no shortage of food, clothes, shelters and lack of education and healthcare facilities.
Terming Sheikh Hasina a successful leader, Dr Momen said she restored multiparty democracy, the rule of law and good governance in the country. "No one is above the law. She has ensured it."
Dr Momen said the Prime Minister rooted out terrorism and radicalism from the country establishing peace across the country.
Describing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's long political struggle, Shahriar Alam said, "She’s such a towering figure."
He said they will be doing more and more to fulfill the dreams of her father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and her own and that is their commitment.
Dr Shammi Ahmed said the Prime Minister put development at the centre of politics with record economic growth.
She highlighted the Prime Minister's achievements in the areas of women empowerment, ICT, managing climate change-related challenges, migration and sustainable development goals and appreciated her humanitarian role. "Bangladesh has become a success story in the developing world."
The birthday of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the President of Bangladesh Awami League, was celebrated across the country in a befitting manner on September 28.
Awami League and its affiliated organisations celebrated the day through various programmes highlighting the life and achievements of Sheikh Hasina by maintaining social distancing and health guidelines set up by the government due to the coronavirus pandemic.
She celebrated her birthday at home for the first time since 2008.
The Prime Minister -- the eldest of the five children of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Begum Fazilatunnesa -- was born on September 28, 1947 in the village of Tungipara in Gopalganj.
More or less, every year from 2009 to 2019, her birthday was spent in New York City or its surrounding areas, where she would be attending the annual meeting of the UN General Assembly, held every September.
This year, the Covid-19 pandemic has forced world leaders to resort to online meetings or send in their recorded messages for the centrepiece event that stretches till the end of the month.
