Md Jashim Uddin, vice-chairman of the Bengal Group and former first vice president of FBCCI, was elected Chairman of Bengal Commercial Bank for three years.
He was elected at the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the bank held in the capital on Monday. The bank recently got license from Bangladesh Bank, said a press release.
Mahbubul Alam, President of Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Golam Mohammad, Managing Director of Max Infrastructure Ltd, were elected vice-chairmen.
Besides, proposal was made to appoint eminent bankers Tariq Morshed as Managing Director and Shohid Hossain as adviser. This will be effective after approval from Bangladesh Bank.
