AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the names at a press conference at AL president’s Dhanmondi political office around 9pm.
The names of the new leaders came five days after the triennial national council of the ruling party.
On the last day of the two-day council on December 21, the partial central committee was announced.
The newly-announced names are:
Organising secretaries: Afzal Hossain and Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel; Finance secretary: Begum Owasika Asha Khan; Information and research secretary: Dr Selim Mahmud; Labour and employment secretary: Habibur Rahman Siraj; Deputy publication secretary: Aminul Islam Amin; Deputy office secretary: Sayem Khan.
Newly-announced members:
Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Qamrul Islam, Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, KM Jahangir, Nurul Islam Thandu, Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran, Dipankar Talukdar, Amirul Islam Milon, Akhtar Jahan, Dr Mushfiq, Riazul Kabir Kawsar, Merina Jaman Kabita, Parvin Zaman Kalpana, Hosne Ara Lutfur Dalia, Safura Khatun, Sanjida Khanam, Anwar Hossain, Anisur Rahman, Shahabuddin Farazi, Iqbal Hossain Apu, Golam Rabbani Chinu, Marufa Akhtar Popy, Remond Areng and Gloria Sarkar Jharna.
However, no name was announced against the posts of organising secretary, finance secretary, industries and commerce secretary and religious affairs secretary.
On December 21, Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader were unanimously reelected president and general secretary of Awami League for the next three years.
With this, Sheikh Hasina was elected the AL chief for the ninth consecutive time while Quader for straight second term.
