“Corruption and nepotism are obstacles to a country's expected development,” he said.
GM Quader, also the Deputy Opposition leader in parliament, said, “Awami League and BNP failed to curb corruption and nepotism in the last 30 years. So, people have been deprived of good governance.”
He came up with the remarks while speaking at a programme of Lalmonirhat unit of Jatiya Party at his Uttara residence.
Lalmonirhat district unit ex-Jubo League organising secretary Rabiul Islam Basunia joined Jatiya Party by presenting a bouquet to GM Quader at the programme.
The Jatiya Party Chairman claimed that their party founder HM Ershad had been able to ensure development and good governance in the country during his nine-year rule.
“So, a Jatiya Party government has now become inevitable for the betterment of the country and its prosperous future,” he added.
Senior Jatiya Party leaders, including Sherifa Quader, Syed Abu Hossain Babla MP, Barrister Shamim Haider Patwari MP and Advocate Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan, were present at the programme.
