The world’s best allrounder in ODI and MP aspirant Shakib Al Hasan on Wednesday visited his constituency for the first time after becoming Awami League candidate from Magura-1 for the 12th parliamentary election scheduled to be held on January 07 next year.
The cricketing superstar was warmly welcomed by thousands of local supporters gathered in the Gorai Bridge area with an impressive convoy of motorcycles and cars.
His father Mashroor Reza Kutil and MunicipalityMayor Khurshid Haider Tutul were present at that time. On behalf of the Sreepur Upazila Awami League, General Secretary Humayunur Rashid Muhith welcomed him with flowers.

According to Shakib's family, Shakib left Dhaka around 10 am on Wednesday and reached Magura at around 2pm. From there, Shakib went to the district Awami League office where District Awami League General Secretary Pankaj Kumar Kundu, Sadar Upazila Awami League President and General Secretary Ashraful Islam and Abdul Mannan, District Jubo League Convener Fazlur Rahman, District Swechchhasebak League President Jamirul Islam, among others, welcomed him.
After exchanging greetings with party leaders and activists at the party office, Shakib offered prayers at the grave of his grandparents at Magura Municipality Graveyard.

He along with party leaders and activists will submit his nomination papers to the returning officer on Thursday.
