Anamul joined on Monday and said it was tough to train after more than four months. Along with Anamul, Mehedi Rana also took part in the individual training programme on Monday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. As per the latest schedule, the programme is extended only in Dhaka.
Anamul was seen on his social media channel to train alone at his home. He joined an outdoor training programme for the first time in four months. He said it was not an easy move.
“I started to practice in Mirpur after four months. It feels really good. It’s always special to practice in Mirpur. But, since it was four first outdoor practice in four months, it was tough for me. I will continue training before Eid and will do the same after the Eid holidays,” Anamul said after his first-day of practice.
“I would like to thank BCB for providing us with the facilities to train in a safe environment. I would also like to thank all who are involved in this,” he added.
BCB had discouraged outdoor practice during this pandemic. But the cricketers requested the board to provide with the facilities so that they can train alone. BCB responded positively by providing training facilities at major cricketing venues around the country.
Along with Dhaka, a total of 14 cricketers joined this individual training programme in Sylhet, Khulna, Rajshahi and Chattogram.
Meanwhile, at least 14 international matches of Bangladesh have been postponed due to coronavirus. They include five Tests which are part of the ongoing World Test Championship. All of these matches are slated to be rescheduled for future dates.
However, the board is now working hard to make the Sri Lanka series possible in October this year. ICC has recently postponed the T20 World Cup 2020 which was slated to be played in October in Australia. After the postponement of this event, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in discussion to play the series in October.
