Bangladesh managed to take two wickets in the first and third sessions. The tourists lost three wickets in the second session.

The second match of the Bangabandhu two-match Test series started at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
At the end of the day, Nkrumah Bonner and Jashua Da Silva were batting for unbeaten 74 and 22.
For Bangladesh, Abu Jayed Rahi took two wickets conceding 46 runs while Taijul Islam bagged two conceding 64 runs. Soumya Sarkar, who replaces injured opener Shadman Islam, took a wicket.

Mehidy Hasan, Bangladesh’s best bower in the last game, and Nayeem Hasan failed to grab any wicket.
Earlier, the tourists won the toss and opted to bat first. They made a solid start thanks to openers Kraigg Brathwaite and John Campbell. Taijul removed Campbell after he posted 36 with five four and one six.
At lunch, West Indies were at 86 for one. But in the second session, Abu Jayed bagged two and Soumya scalped one wicket.
Jayed picked the wicket of Kyle Mayers (5), who hit a double-ton in Chattogram Test. He tried to cut a ball which was going away from him but only managed to reach the slip area where Soumya took a stunner.
Jayed also removed Sheyne Moseley for seven.
In the third session of the day, Taijul bagged the wicket of Jermaine Blackwood for 28.

In the sixth wicket stand, Bonner and Da Silva added 45 runs in 109 balls. Bangladeshi bowlers tried their best to take some more wickets but in vain.
Mehidy was economical for the Tigers as he bowled 22 overs and conceded only 39 with an average of 1.8 runs.
Abu Jayed and Taijul also bowled at an average of below 2. These three put Bangladesh slightly ahead of the visitors at the end of day one of the Dhaka Test.
