In reply to West Indies’ first innings of 409 runs, Bangladesh fell short of 113 runs as they tumbled for 196 for all wicket in 96.5 overs on Saturday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Mushfiqur Rahim, Liton Das and Mehdiy Hasan Miraz hit a half-century each in this innings for the hosts, but none of them was able to continue on the good run and come with a big innings.

Bangladesh got their highest partnership when Liton and Mehidy added 126 runs in the seventh wicket stand. They also helped the hosts avoid a follow-on.

They took the field right before the tea break and batted for more than 42 overs.

West Indies secured a handy lead of 113 runs at the end of Bangladesh’s first innings.

Rahkeem Cornwall, the right-arm spinner, registered a five-wicket haul for the tourists conceding 74 runs while Shannon Gabriel took three and Alzarri Joseph scalped two.

Earlier, West Indies posted 409 runs in their first innings. Abu Jayed and Taijul Islam took four wickets each for the Tigers.
