Can Bangladesh Win the World Cup 2023?
Over the past 12 years, Bangladesh’s exceptional performance and high-quality cricket on the subcontinent wickets have earned them a place among the favorites. The team’s prowess and consistent display of skills have led to them being shortlisted as strong contenders for the World Cup 2023. The most surprising fact is that Bangladesh has whitewashed its opponents 10 times in the last 12 years in the ODI format. However, series wins are not counted in this list. From this, everyone understands how strong Bangladesh is in ODIs in subcontinental conditions. Ever since the T20 whitewash of England, the chances of Bangladesh winning the World Cup have become more obvious.
Bangladesh is gradually becoming a great team in batting, bowling, and fielding. One of the best bowlers like Mustafiz in this team now tends to lose his chance in the XI. Taskin-Hasan-Ebadot trio is considered one of the best-pacing trios.
Miraz’s pairing with Shakib Al Hasan in spin can be dangerous. If three pacers can do their job well, two spinners can destroy a team. But if the game is played on the spin pitch, who will be the third spinner along with Shakib and Miraz is still in question. However, the team is working on that. A leg spinner is being groomed with that in mind.
Besides Nasum, Taijul are also staying in the race for only one spot. It can be said that the Bangladesh team is almost confirmed for the World Cup. The batting order from 1-6 has also been fixed. Tamim, Litton, Shanto, Shakib, Towhid, and Mushfiq will bat from 1 to 6. But no. 7 is the main concern for the Bangladesh team because this position requires a finisher. Yasir Ali, Afif, Mahmudullah, and Mosaddek are the main contenders for batting at no 7.
