Captain Cum forward Tambwe Amissi netted twice and forward Nshimirimana Jospin scored one for Burundi while forward Perry Moniaie netted the lone goal for Seychelles.
Burundi will now play against the Group A runners-up either Bangladesh or Sri Lanka in the 2nd semifinal match on Thursday at the same time and at the same venue.
Palestine also reached in the semifinal as Group A champions to play against Group B runners-up either Seychelles or Mauritius in the first semifinal on Wednesday.
Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka on Sunday to confirm their semifinal berth while Seychelles will face Mauritius on Monday, both at 5 pm.
In the day’s match, Seychelles tried their best to dominate over their mighty opponents with attacking football from the very beginning. Seychelles could open the account in the very 4th minute, but their captain cum defender Warren Mellie wasted the first opportunity.
But, Seychelles forward Perry made no mistake to send the ball home with a right-footer shot inside from the box, utilizing a pass of captain Mellie in the 26th minute (1-0).
After conceding the goal, Burundi came alive and started to put pressure over their opponents. But all of their attempts went in vain.
Burundi scored their first goal in the second half. Forward Jospin, who scored a brilliant hat-trick against Mauritius in the first match, netted the equalizer from a goal mouth melee, utilizing a header of defender Ndikumana Asman in the 55th minute (1-1).
Just after five minutes, Burundi captain Tambwe Amissi scored twice in a span of just two minutes.
Amissi netted his first goal with a tap-in shot from the danger zone, off a cross from defender Ragiryimana Evrard in the 60th minute (2-1) while scored his second and the 3rd goal for his team by an eye-catching volley in the 62nd minute (3-1).
Earlier, a brilliant hat-trick by forward Nshimirimana Jospin helped Burundi to pile up a massive 4-1 goals victory against Mauritius in their first Group B match.
Jospin netted the tournament’s first hat-trick scoring three goals while defender Ndikumana Asman netted the other goal for Burundi. Midfielder Adrien Francois scored the lone goal for Mauritius.
