Replying to Walton Central Zone’s first innings total 213 runs, Islami Bank East Zone, riding on fabulous batting display by Tamim Iqbal and Mominul Haque scored a comfortable 395 runs for 2 wickets in 95 overs in the first innings on the 2nd day (Saturday).
Tamim scored his second first-class double-ton scoring an unbeaten 222 runs off 281 balls featuring 30 boundaries while Mominul made 111 runs off 195 balls hitting 12 fours and one six. On the way, they scored 296 runs in the 2nd wicket partnership.
Tamim made the century playing 130 balls and completed the double-ton off 242 balls while Mominul faced 194 balls in his innings.
Mukidul Islam and Shuvagata Hom Chowdhury bagged one wicket each for the Central Zone.
Earlier, Walton Central Zone lost the toss to bat first and posted 213 runs for all in 75.1 overs, featuring a fifty of the opener Saif Hassan.
Left-arm national spinner Taijul Islam bagged five wickets for 58 runs for Islami Bank East Zone.
