Bangladesh won the T20 series against England by winning the first two T20Is of three matches. This is Bangladesh’s first series win against the world champions in T20. After winning the first of the three-match series in Chittagong, Shakib's team won the second match in Mirpur by 4 wickets. The team confirmed the historic T20 series victory with one match in hand.

Bangladesh beats England in BAN vs ENG T20 Series 2023 

Shakib won the toss in Mirpur and chose to bowl, just as he did in Chittagong. To replace the batsman Shamim Hossain, the starting XI was boosted with the inclusion of spin all-rounder Mehdy Hasan Miraz. His contribution proved significant, as he managed to bowl the English side out for 117 on the last ball of his bowling. Jos Buttler's England was unable to withstand Miraz's combination of batting and bowling.

England, however, got off to a good start. The second wicket was lost by exactly 50 runs. Then Miraz started pushing. One by one, he took Moeen Ali (15), Sam Curran (12) and Chris Woakes (0), and Chris Jordan’s (3) wickets. Earlier, opener Phil Salt scored 25 runs and returned to Shakib's ball. Jos Buttler (4) was bowled by Hasan Mahmood. Ben Duckett, who got out in the last over, scored 28 runs off 28 balls for the team.

Even though Rony Talukdar played 14 balls, it seems that he was not confident on the wicket; he gave an easy catch to Moeen Ali in Jafra Archer’s ball.

Miraz Handled the Innings Along with Shanto with The Bat

Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh's in-form batsman, managed to stay at one end of the wicket, ultimately performing as the team's best batsman for the second straight match. At one point, Bangladesh was in danger until Miraz joined with the bat and contributed 20 runs with two sixes. Shanto and Miraz combined for a 34-ball 41-run partnership, while Shakib and Afif were out in between. In the end, Taskin Ahmed delivered the victory for Bangladesh, with Shanto remaining unbeaten on 46.
