Nasir, as everyone else, is all set to get back to competitive cricket after a gap of one year forced by the Covid-19 epidemic. He will represent the Rangpur Divisional team in this First Class event.
“The NCL is like a comeback tournament for me,” Nasir told the media on Sunday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. “I will try to be the top-scorer of NCL. I will try to score at least 800 to 1000 runs in this league.”
In a fitness test ahead of the league, Nasir passed with a remarkable mark. But he said he is not satisfied with his fitness yet as he is yet to recover fully from a hamstring injury.

“I’m not fully fit yet, but I believe a player can be fit just playing and attending gym and practice sessions. Let’s see what I can do in NCL,” he added.
Nasir has recently landed in hot water after a controversial marriage. The all-rounder said he is not bothered with the incident that took place outside the field.
“I’m not worried about what happened off the field,” he told the media. “I’m just focussing on my game now. I think no cricketer thinks much about the incidents taking place off the field.”
Nasir has played a total of 19 Tests, 65 ODIs and 31 T20s for the Tigers, and amassed more than 2500 international runs along with taking more than 30 wickets.

As a batsman, which is his main forte, he averages 34.8 in Tests, 29.1 in ODIs and 18.5 in T20Is, and has score a century each in Test and ODI cricket.
He also has a decent record in the domestic circuit where he scored more than 10,000 runs and bagged more than 250 wickets.
