Fortune Barishal Captain of the ongoing BPL 2022, Shakib Al Hasan became the first Bangladeshi player to reach 400 wickets milestone in Twenty20 cricket during a match against Minister Dhaka on Monday (January 24). Shakib made history by taking the wicket of Minister Dhaka skipper Mahmudullah Riyad on the second delivery of the 18th over. He had a bowling figure of 3.3-0-21-1 in the contest. Shakib also became only the fifth bowler in history to achieve the feat. Let's take a look at Shakib's 400 T20 wickets in detail.

Shakib Al Hasan achieved another unique milestone in his professional cricket career during a league phase BPL 2022 encounter against Minister Dhaka. He completed his 400 wickets in 354 Twenty20 matches. Shakib Al Hasan has 117 international wickets in 94 appearances and 283 wickets in 259 non-international matches among his 400 Twenty20 wickets.

Only four other players have taken more Twenty20 wickets than Shakib. West Indian all-rounder DJ Bravo, South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir, West Indian all-rounder Sunil Narine, and Afghan leg-spinner Rashid Khan are among the players with more than 400 wickets.

Shakib Al Hasan holds the record for taking the most wickets on a single ground. He has 148 wickets at a strike rate of 16.5 in 110 matches at the SBNCS, Mirpur. He also has the second-best bowling figures (6/18) as captain.

Shakib Al Hasan had his most successful year to date in 2016. He took 53 wickets in 61 matches in that year. He also took 52 T20 wickets in 2013.

The 2019 BPL has been Shakib Al Hasan's most successful series as a bowler. He took 23 wickets in 15 games for Dhaka Dynamites in that series. The left-arm spinner also took 22 wickets in 13 matches for Dhaka Dynamites in the 2017 season BPL.
