Left-handed opener Najmul Hossain Shanto guided Bangladesh to a fighting score of 150 against Zimbabwe in a T20 World Cup match on Sunday in Brisbane.
Bangladesh opted to bat first against Zimbabwe in the two sides' first-ever meeting in the T20 World Cup competition. Soumya Sarkar fell for a duck in this match. Liton Das came in at three and scored 14 off 12 balls. After that, Shakib joined Shanto in the third-wicket stand.

While Shakib fell for 23, Shanto hit a fifty off 45 balls and ended up with 71 off 54 balls. The batter was suffering from a hamstring problem during his stay in the middle.
Afif Hossain was the second highest scorer for Bangladesh, posting 29. Bangladesh ended on 150 for seven in 20 overs against Zimbabwe in Brisbane thanks to Shanto's effective knock with the bat. For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani bagged two wickets each.
