Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood shared the initial four wickets, with Starc claiming an additional wicket, ending with figures of three for 34. Pat Cummins also secured three wickets, while Travis Head, not a regular bowler, impressively took two wickets off consecutive deliveries.
Despite playing two previous semifinals, both against Australia, South Africa has never emerged victorious in this stage.
