The prudent leadership of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib helped Bangabandhu make crucial decisions quickly, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said on Friday.
The minister was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the two-day "WE Colorful Fest" organised by the Women and e-Commerce Forum at Purbachal Club.
State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak presided over the programme while Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswami, and Women and e-Commerce Forum President Nasima Akter Nisha addressed the event.
"The female e-commerce entrepreneurs have shown resilience amid the Covid-19 pandemic. They not only made themselves self-reliant at this difficult time but also supported their families by selling products worth millions of taka," Momen said.
"E-commerce has now become a key part of Bangladesh's growing economy. The size of the country's e-commerce market is almost $2 billion now and the number could be $3 billion by 2023."
