High officials from the company and other officials from the Embassy were also present during the visit.
The Ambassador visited two units ‘Classic-6’ and ‘Classic-12’ of the industry and had lunch with workers at the canteen, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During lunch, she asked the workers if they had any complain and requested them to contact the Embassy or the Jordanian Labour Ministry or the Union office directly if they have any complaint or facing any difficulty.
She encouraged them to follow the health precautions regarding COVID-19 pandemic and follow the law of Jordan and rules of the company and not to heed to any rumour or be instigated by others.
After visiting the factory, Ambassador Sobhan held a meeting with the high officials of the company at the Corporate office.
She conveyed her appreciation for the factory management for taking care of the Bangladeshi workers.
The envoy requested the authority to find out the cause of the labour unrest that occurred earlier this month and to take precautions and necessary measures to prevent such incident in the future.
She assured the management of all cooperation from the Embassy to ensure the rights and welfare of the Bangladeshi workers. The company management expressed their gratitude to Ambassador for visiting the factory and also thanked the Embassy for its cooperation.
