Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman started the tree plantation campaign to build a green Bangladesh to save the country’s nature and environment, he said. “We are committed to building Bangabandhu’s green Bengal.”

The minister said, “Accountability will be ensured in forestry activities, wildlife conservation and prevention of environmental pollution.”

Also, on 30 December, the minister said trees would fill places in Cox’s Bazar left vacant by Rohingyas who had and would set for Bhashan Char in phases.

Shahab Uddin said this while instructing the Forest Department officials to plant as many trees as required to restorer forests in Rohingya settlements and other areas of Cox’s Bazar.
