A female leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was arrested for her alleged involvement in cattle lifting in Dhamrai of Savar early Wednesday.
She was identified as Babli Akter, student affairs secretary of Dhaka-North BCL. She is a 3rd year student of the Department of Social Work of Savar Government College.

Police arrested Babli after conducting a drive in Nayabari area during the early hours, said Atiqur Rahman, inspector (Investigation) of Dhamrai police station.
Recently, several cattle lifting incidents have taken place at Sinthi village in Kulla union under Dhamrai and cases were filed at the police station, said Inspector Atiqur.

After interrogating two accused, police found the involvement of Babli in these crimes. Babli used to keep the cattle in her custody and sold them later, he added.
Meanwhile, Dhaka-North BCL President Saidul Islam said, “If the complaint is proved, organisational action will be taken against her.”
