Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a man along with 70,000 Yaba pills and a private car in two separate drives in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar on Wednesday.

Tipped off that a consignment of Yaba pills might be smuggled through Teknaf-Cox's Bazar Highway, Teknaf Battalion (BGB-2) of BGB strengthened checking of vehicles at Damdamia, Hoaikong, Khurermukh and Shilkhali check posts, said Lt. Col. Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Captain of Teknaf Battalion (BGB-2).
At around 12pm, 20,000 pieces of Yaba pills were recovered from a private car going to Cox's Bazar from Teknaf near Shilkhali temporary check post, he said.
The private car was also seized for carrying drugs illegally.

The arrestee was identified as Mohammad Rasel, 19, son of Md Yusuf Ali of Dailpara village in Teknaf upazila.
Earlier, a patrol team of Sabrang BOP under the same battalion conducted an anti-drug drive in Shamsul Gher area and seized 50,000 Yaba pulls.
