Armed robbers looted seven mobile phone sets and cash Tk 80,000 from passengers aboard a microbus on the western connecting highway of the Jamuna Bridge in Sirajganj’s Kamarkhand upazila on Sunday.
Mohammad Anarul Islam, officer-in-charge of Jamuna Bridge West Police Station, said the robbers threw bricks at the front glass of the vehicle, forcing the driver to stop in Konnabari area at 8:30 pm when it was heading to Rajshhai from Dhaka.

A group of seven to eight robbers, armed with locally-made weapons then threatened the passengers and looted seven mobile phones and around Tk 80,000 in cash, he said.
A case was filed at Jamuna Bridge West Police Station in this connection.
Police visited the scene that night and an operation will be conducted to arrest the culprits involved in the robbery, the OC added.
