“The goal is to ensure free and fair examination atmosphere,” she told the media at the Secretariat.
She said the coaching centres will remain closed from January 25 to February 25. The minister also urged everyone not to pay heed to rumours.
More than two million students are expected to take part in the SSC and equivalent examinations. Among the candidates, 10,24,363 are male and 10,23,416 female. The examinations will be held at 3,512 centres in 28,884 institutions.
Dipu Moni said 16,35,240 candidates will sit for SSC under nine general education boards, 2,81,254 for Dakhil exams under Madrasah Education Board and 1,31,285 for vocational exam under Bangladesh Technical Education Board this year.
Besides, 342 students will take part in the examination from abroad, the minister said.
The examinations will begin on February 1 and continue until February 22. Practical examination for general board will be held from February 23 to February 29.
