The death toll from Covid-19 now stands at 1,888 with the death of 41 more people during the period.
The daily infection rate was recorded 21.12 percent for Wednesday.
Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at its daily health bulletin.
In the last 24 hours, 65 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 18,875 samples, she said adding, “So far, 7,84,335 tests have been carried out.”
Against the number of total tests since March 8, the infection rate is 19.03 percent in the country, Dr Nasima said.

Across the country, 2,484 more patients made recovery, she said adding that 62,102 people have so far recovered from the disease.
Against the total number of detected cases, the recovery rate is 41.61 percent and the mortality rate is 1.26 percent in the country.
Among the deceased, 38 were male and three were female, she said adding, “Their age-based analysis says four were aged between 31 and 40, five between 41 and 50, 12 between 51 and 60, 11 between 61 and 70, seven between 71 and 80, one between 81 and 90 and another was aged between 91 and 100.”
Dr Nasima presented the overall mortality rate of different age groups since March 11.
“Till date, 43.27 percent of the deceased were aged above 60, 28.81 percent between 51 and 60, 14.99 between 41 and 50, 7.62 between 31 and 40, 3.49 between 21 and 30, 1.16 between 11 and 20 and 0.6 percent were below 10 years,” she said.

In the last 24 hours, Dr Nasima said, 13 patients died in Dhaka division, 17 in Chattogram division, five in Khulna division, one in Rangpur division, two in Sylhet division and three in Barishal division.
“Twenty-three people died in hospitals across the country while 18 died at their homes,” Dr Nasima added.
Besides, 955 people were taken to isolation in the last 24 hours while 555 released and 15,547 in isolation.
During the period, another 2,429 people were home and institutionally quarantined and 3,414 released.
At present, 63,882 people are quarantined across the country.
