Dhaka, Aug 6 (UNB) – One square foot of raw cowhide will cost between Tk 45 and Tk 50 in the capital during the Eid-ul-Azha.
Outside Dhaka, the prices will range between Tk 35 and Tk 40.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi announced the rates after a meeting with cowhide traders at the Commerce Ministry on Tuesday.
Bangladesh is scheduled to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha on August 12. The Department of Livestock Services said the demand for sacrificial animals during this Eid is 1,10,00,000.
Minister Munshi said one square foot of goatskin will cost between Tk 18-20 across the country while that of she-goat will cost Tk 13-15.
