Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni unveiled the cover of the book at a ceremony at the Bangla Academy as the chief guest.
DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman, Director of National Mental Health Institute Dr Mohit Kamal, Jatiya Press Club General Secretary Farida Yasmin, Sampreeti Bangladesh Member Secretary Dr Mamun-Al-Mahtab Swapnil, and DU Education and Counseling Psychology Department Chairperson Dr Mehtab Khanam were, among others, present at the programme.
Lauding Naher’s book, Dr Dipu Moni said the book contains everything for the care of mental health.
“It contains everything that needs to be done to maintain mental health. There are also details about meditation. I think everyone needs to read this book. Simply put, the book is beautifully written. I hope everyone reading the book will benefit,” she said.
Dipu Moni highlighted the importance of taking care of mental health.
“Taking care of the mind is an urgent task. We just work with our bodies. But when the mind becomes random, everything becomes random. We often don't care about this aspect and that's where all the problems arise,” she said.
DU VC Prof Akhtaruzzaman said the book is a must read for stress management.
Thanking the audience, Roufun Naher said the book is a result of conveying the call of mental healthcare to everyone.
“Many don’t come to the psychiatric counsellor directly for service. I wanted to make that service accessible to everyone and write this book out of that demand,” she said.
The book has been published by Anindyaprakash. It will be available at their pavilion during the ongoing Amar Ekushey Book Fair.
