“I’ve written to our Ambassadors abroad to intensify their efforts as well as sought their views on how we can do better and effectively promote our trade and investment among foreigners,” he said.
Dr Momen was addressing a seminar titled “Trade and Investment Opportunities in Bangladesh” held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the chief guest on Tuesday.

Along with high officials of the Foreign Ministry, executive chairmen of BIDA and BEZA and Managing Director of High-Tech Park Hosne Ara Begum also attended the seminar.
Dr Momen said his ministry is playing its role part in Bangladesh’s journey of attracting foreign investment. “We’ve their (Bangladesh envoys) views and we’re assessing them while working out an appropriate strategy in this regard.
He mentioned that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strengthened its capacity and intensified efforts following the vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on pursuing and emphasising on economic diplomacy.
The Foreign Minister said his ministry has established a new division to deal with and coordinate all trade and investment issues with all relevant national authorities and ministries, including BIDA and BEZA, to closely work with them as a single entity.
He said the vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasising Economic and Trade Diplomacy helps realise her dream of building “Sonar Bangla”.
“My ministry is and will always ready to work closely and coordinate our national efforts with all the national investment authorities and ministries to make it happen,” Momen said.
