For the last couple of days, Kurigram has been experiencing a mild cold wave.
A Met Office bulletin issued in the morning said the temperature plummeted and now a severe cold wave is sweeping over Kurigram and Rajshahi districts.
A mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Mymensingh division and elsewhere over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and the regions of Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalgonj, Nikli, Srimangal, Khulna, Jashore, Chuadanga, Kushtia, Barishal and Bhola.

It may continue, the bulletin said.
Ridge of Sub-continental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining northwestern part Bangladesh. Seasonal low lies over South Bay.
Weather may remain dry over the country and moderate to thick fog may occur during midnight to morning.
Night temperature may fall slightly over Chattogram and Barishal divisions and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country.

UNB Kurigram correspondent reports that a cold wave sweeping over the district may persist for a few more days, said the in-charge of Kurigram Agricultural Meteorological Observatory.
The normal life of the people was also disrupted due to the cold wave, inflicting woes on the poor people.
The sun remained invisible in the day time.

The day labourers are suffering a lot as they cannot go out due in search of work which has been scarce.
Visibility became poor forcing vehicles to keep their headlights on in day time.

Kurigram Civil Surgeon Dr Habibur Rahman, said 61 people got admitted to different hospital after being affected by cold-related disease including pneumonia in the last 24 hours.
