Police recovered the body of a young man from the Pakhiza area adjacent to Savar Bus Stand on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Abu Kalam, 34, son of Abu Sayeed. His body was recovered from behind Lab Zone Hospital in Majidpur area.
According to police and family members, the body bore multiple injury marks on the neck and head, suggesting that he was killed sometime during the night.
The victim’s father alleged that Kalam ran a grocery shop and had given money to a person to go abroad.
However, a dispute had been ongoing as the person failed to send him overseas.
He claimed that the dispute over the issue might have led to his son’s killing.
Sub-Inspector Abdullah Al Masud of Savar Model Police Station said police recovered the body after receiving information and sent it to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
Efforts are underway to identify those involved in the killing and bring them to justice, the officer added.
