Dhaka, Jan 10 (UNB) – Russia wants to strengthen its bilateral and constructive cooperation with Bangladesh securing peace and stability in South Asia and beyond.
While congratulating new Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Bangladesh and Russia have similar approaches to regional and global agenda and are bound by friendship and partnership.
Minister Lavrov hoped the “constructive cooperation” between the two Foreign Ministries will continue in the days ahead for the benefit of strengthening of bilateral cooperation, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here on Thursday.
Meanwhile, acting High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Dr Adarsh Swaika paid a courtesy call on the new Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Dr Momen.
Dr Adarsh handed over the letter of congratulations from the External Affairs Minister of India Sushma Swaraj.
