Petrol pump owner fined for short-selling customers in city

A mobile court of Bangladesh Standards & Testing Institution on Monday fined a petrol pump Tk 20,000 for deceiving customers by selling them short in Mohakhali area in the city.
Messers Gulshan Service Station was fined Tk 20,000 for providing 60ml and 50ml less oil than the customer pays for out of every 10 litres through two diesel dispensing units at the station, said a BSTI press release.
A case was filed against the petrol pump owner under Weights and Measures Act 2018, it said.
Muhammad Aminul Ehsan with inspector Md Injamamul Haque and Md Najmus Sayadat led the mobile court, said the release.
