Bangladesh and Canada are enjoying excellent ties now and the countries are getting closer.
President Abdul Hamid said this when Dr Khalilur Rahman, newly appointed Bangladesh high commissioner to Canada, met with him at Bangabhaban on Saturday.
Mentioning Canada as one of the key development partners and major export destinations of Bangladesh, the president advised the new high commissioner to work on deepening bilateral ties, including increasing trade and investment.
He also instructed Dr Khalilur to make all possible efforts to ensure the welfare of expatriate Bangladeshis living in Canada, President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told the reporters.
