Two SUST students receive burn injuries while working at lab


Two students of the department of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science (CEP) on Monday received burn injuries while working at the laboratory of Shahajalal University of Science and Technology.

The students are—Md Abdullah Al Nasim and Md Tahmidul Karim. Both are students of 2015-16 academic year of CEP department.

Prof Dr Abu Yusuf, head of CEP Department, said Abdullah and Tahmidul received burn injuries from hot water sprinkled from Autoclave Machine when they were working at university laboratory for thesis work on Monday noon.

One of them got burn injuries in his hand while other had injuries on both his hands and under belly, he said adding that they were admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College immediately.

Both of them are out of danger but will be taken to Dhaka for better treatment, he added.
