The premises that used to get muddy during the rainy season has now turned into an eye-catching establishment decorated with green trees.
The wind of change reportedly began after AKM Jahidul Hasan Jahid was elected as chairman of the Upazila Parishad.
Visiting the site, it was seen that a sculpture of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was set up inside the Upazila Parishad grounds.
Besides, a project was implemented to plant around 4,000 trees in the 21-acre compound of the Parishad.

Earlier, it was difficult to move from one building to another due to waterlogging inside the premises.
Due to the dilapidated condition of residential buildings, the officials working in the Upazila had not been staying in the quarters for long.
But the authorities are now working to renovate the buildings and making them habitable. It will soon be able to accommodate the officials.
A mini-park with various rides was set up at the premises to entertain the children of the residential buildings. Besides, a spacious garden was created there for shade and frosty air.
The roads inside the Upazila Parishad were covered with beautiful paved tiles to ensure smooth movement.
It was learnt that the Upazila administration and Upazila Parishad have taken a total of 11 initiatives marking the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Contacted, Chairman AKM Jahidul Hasan Jahid said he tried to decorate the premises in a planned way.
“I want to make the Upazila a model one within my tenure. I seek everyone’s cooperation to implement the plan,” he said.
Md Rashedur Rahman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Alfadanga, said they have planted fruit and medicinal trees at the premises to give it an aesthetic look. Besides, they’re working to make a garden there.
“Anyone who comes to the Upazila Parishad premises will feel good,” added the UNO.
