Before this phase of BPL in Dhaka, the Challengers are at the top of the table with 10 points from five victories in seven games. Rajshahi Royals and Platoon amassed eight points each, but the Royals are at the second place for their better run-rate than the Platoon.
Khulna Tigers, who are led by Mushfiqur Rahim, are at number four with six points from three wins in five games while Cumilla Warriors, Sylhet Thunder and Rangpur Rangers are placed at five, six and seven with four, two and two points respectively. Thunder and the Rangers amassed two points each, but due to the better run-rate, Thunder are at numbers six.
English batsman Dawid Malan is at the top of the list of the most-run scorers of the event. He accumulated 300 runs from six matches with one century and one half-century, while Mehedi Hasan Rana is at the top of the list of the most-wicket takers of the league with 13 wickets from five matches.
After the five-day second Dhaka-phase, the BPL will travel to Sylhet for a three-day phase. After that, the BPL will continue in Dhaka from January 7. The final of the event will take place on January 17 at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
