BCB commemorates Bangabandhu's birth centenary
Bangladesh Cricket Board celebrates the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.


The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) commemorated the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Wednesday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Hundreds of madrasa students were invited to the programme to recite Quraan and pray for Bangabandhu.

The BCB also provided the underprivileged people of the city with food at the National Cricket Academy ground.

Earlier, Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal Tamim said in a video message: "Bangabandhu once dreamt that Bangladesh would be recognised throughout the world for sports."

"We are remembering Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman today with respect on the occasion of his birth anniversary."

Bangladesh national team is now touring New Zealand for a three-match ODI and three-match T20 series starting from March 20.
