Bangladesh right-arm off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz has become the number two ODI bowler in the latest ICC rankings.
Before taking the field in the ongoing ODI series against Sri Lanka, Mehidy was the number five bowler. He bagged four wickets in the first game and scalped three in the second, which helped him climb three spots and earn his career-best ranking.
Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman also claimed the ninth spot in the ranking after taking six wickets in the first two ODIs against Sri Lanka.
Shakib became the number one ODI bowler in 2009 as the first Bangladeshi, and Abdur Razzak became the number two bowler in the format the next year.
After hitting 84 and 125 against the Lankan Lions, Mushfiqur Rahim has become the number 14 batsman in ODI and Mahmudullah Riyad 38 after his 54 and 41.
Riding on Mehidy, Mustafizur, Mushfiqur and Mahmudullah, Bangladesh already sealed the series with one match to play on May 28 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
