Batting all-rounder Nasir Hossain, who has recently been making more headlines for his off-field than on-field activities, is looking to score at least 800 to 1000 runs in the new season of the National Cricket League (NCL) starting from Monday.
Nasir, as everyone else, is all set to get back to competitive cricket after a gap of one year forced by the Covid-19 epidemic. He will represent the Rangpur Divisional team in this First Class event.
“The NCL is like a comeback tournament for me,” Nasir told the media on Sunday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. “I will try to be the top-scorer of NCL. I will try to score at least 800 to 1000 runs in this league.”
In a fitness test ahead of the league, Nasir passed with a remarkable mark. But he said he is not satisfied with his fitness yet as he is yet to recover fully from a hamstring injury.
