Like every year, the Consumer Electronics Show 2024 marked the start of an exciting year of tech ahead. From wearables to entertainment to even farming tech, CES brings about every form of consumer tech imaginable under one roof. Rabbit R1: A Standalone Personal Assistant

The concept of Rabbit R1 might be a bit complex for some. It’s essentially a $199 device meant to use your phone for you. And if you’re not scratching your head already, it essentially uses AI to navigate tasks on your phone which otherwise you’d have to do yourself. 

Rabbit R1 uses a simple command button like ChatGPT where you speak a command and it gets on with the task using your smartphone as the base. For example, ordering food or booking a UBER. The possibilities are supposed to be limitless with this AI assistant. While many are still skeptical about its practicality, Rabbit R1 was a highlight at CES. 

Signature Series T OLED from LG: A New Transparent OLED Tech  

LG unveiled its Signature Series T OLED screen at CES 2024. And in short, this is probably what magic in tech looks like.

The transparent screen is mounted on a frame, which when turned off, looks just like a slab of glass. The screen can project everything a normal OLED panel can do except without a background. The result is an entirely new viewing experience which honestly feels surreal.

LG even incorporated a raisable black screen at the back for a more traditional viewing experience. The 77-inch screen provides ample real estate to enjoy any kind of content on it, even holographic ones!

Eureka Dual Washing Bot: A New Combo of Smart Home Cleaning 

What comes to your mind when you hear about home cleaning? It’s usually a washer, dryer, vacuum, and mop. Well, a Chinese brand came up with what they’re calling the Eureka Dual Washing Bot to bring everything under one gadget. Yes, you heard that right, a mid-sized machine that acts as a washer and dryer as well as a robot vacuum and mop. 

The intelligent vacuum is equipped with new dust detection technology for an even better cleaning. And the automatic mop also disposes itself using the same hose as the washer. It truly is an all-in-one cleaning solution.

Abode Edge Camera: New Frontier in Security

At first look, the Abode Edge Camera looks like any other standard security camera. There is a rotating camera head and an extended hand for wireless connection. However, what’s truly special here is the range of connections. Abode Edge uses the Wi-Fi HaLow system from Morse Micro. It essentially gives a mile-long range with the camera and the Wi-Fi source. So now users can strategically position the camera in any part of their property. It also comes with advanced AI detection of pets, packages, and known humans. 

Supernal S-A2: The Future of Transportation

It's 2024 and unlike all the sci-fi promises of the 90s, there are still no flying cars. However, Supernal, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group is taking things a notch further with their new helicopter, if you can call it that. There’s room for four people inside along with the pilot. It has a range of about 40 miles with a max speed of 120 miles flying 1500 feet in the sky. Being an all-electric vehicle, it’s just like an average helicopter minus the sound. The Supernal S-A2 is expected to hit commercial use in about 4 years.

The Celestron Origin Intelligent Home Observatory: AI-powered Stargazing 

Stargazing is something humans have been doing for thousands of years now. With new optical telescopes, it’s now easier than ever to stargaze to distant galaxies. But Celestron is taking things a notch further with their Origin telescope. 

By all means, it’s a standard telescope with a RASA f/2.2 optical system. It is combined with state-of-the-art AI computation and Sony CMOS sensors for some pretty amazing stuff. The telescope can intelligently locate stars and give a detailed idea about positions in an intuitive way. It can even be timed to take pictures of celestial objects for impeccable NASA-grade images.

Swarovski Optik AX Visio: AI-Powered Binoculars 

Binoculars are a wildlife exploration essential. But have you ever gazed at something and wondered what that bird or animal might be? Well, you’re not the only one facing this question. Turns out Swarovski has a $4800 solution for that problem. 

The company showed off its Optik AX Visio, a standard 10X binocular with a digital sensor in the middle. The binocular connects with a smartphone app which can promptly show the details of whatever the binocular is pointed at.

EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra: A Battery Pack for the Entire Home

Portable battery packs aren’t new. They’ve been around as a camping essential for quite some time now. But EcoFlow decided to take things further. The company introduced its Delta Pro Ultra at CES. The two-wheel base and the attached handle make it look more like a suitcase than a battery pack. What’s interesting is that it can power a whole house. 

The battery pack has a 6kWh capacity with a 7200W output which can be extended up to 90kWh with a stacking option. The highest limit can power an entire home for a month. It also seamlessly connects with the main power source through their Smart Home Panel 2. 

Clicks by Clicks Technology: Physical QWERTY for Smartphones

There was a time when Blackberry phones with their physical full keyboard were all the rage. It was like the premium flagship of today back in the day. In today’s smartphone trend where the screen gets bigger and brighter, Clicks Technology brought back the nostalgia of a physical keyboard through a case. 

Their Clicks case has a full physical keyboard much like that was seen on Blackberries. It has also customizable shortcuts with a distinct click on each button. It might feel like a gimmick to many, but it’s there for those wanting the physical feel of typing on a smartphone. 

Seergrills: The Next Generation of BBQ 

Doing BBQ can be a tedious process, especially if one isn’t adept with the intricacies of temperature, flame level, doneness, etc. But on the flip side, we all love to do it either way. Seergrills has brought a perfect solution to the issue in this year’s CES. 

Their revolutionary AI-powered grill only needs two pieces of information – what is being grilled and the desired doneness. The rest of the work is handled by the grill. There’s even a slot for pizza,  burgers, and fish for all types of grilling solutions.

Like every year, this year too marked some fascinating new tech in the consumer electronics space. An increasing number of AI integration to all sorts of tech verticals were a key highlight of the CES 2024. While most of the tech gadgets showcased is already available on the market, users would have to wait for other, more ambitious projects for a few more years.
