Mild heatwave sweeping over Dhaka, other parts of country: BMD
A mild heatwave is sweeping over different parts of the country, including Dhaka, and it may abate from some places, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
“A mild heatwave is sweeping over the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Rajshahi, Pabna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Nilphamari and Moulvibazar and it may abate from some places,” said a regular bulletin of Met office.
Heat wave may persist in five districts: BMD
Besides, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at many places in Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions; at a few places in Mymensingh, Rangpur and Dhaka divisions; and at one or two places in Rajshahi division with moderately heavy falls at places in Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet, the weather forecast said.

Bangladesh: Heatwave may abate in 24 hrs
A mild heatwave sweeping through several districts of the country is likely to abate in the next 24 hours, the weather department has said.
“A mild heatwave sweeping through the districts of Dhaka, Tangail, Rajshahi, Bogura, Sirajgong, Netrokona,Srimangal and Sylhet may abate from some places,” the weather department said in its bulletin on Saturday morning.
The low formed over the west-central Bay and adjoining northwest Bay persists and is likely to intensify, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

Under its influence, a deep convection is taking place over the North Bay and adjoining areas. Deep convection refers to the thermally driven turbulent mixing that moves air parcels from the lower to the upper atmosphere.
Besides, light to moderate rains or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
Rain may also occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country during the period.
The maximum temperature in the last 24 hours till 6 am Saturday was recorded in Sylhet at 37.2 degrees.

“A mild heatwave is sweeping through the districts of Faridpur, Sirajgong, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Mymensingh, Cumilla, Chandpur, Feni, Satkhira, Jashore, Chuadanga, Kushtia and Bhola, and it may continue, “ Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a bulletin.

Besides, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places over Barishal, Chattogram and Khulna divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places over the country.
Day temperature may rise slightly over the northern part of the country and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the department said.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 36.6 degrees Celsius in Tarash upazila of Rajshahi in 24 hours till Friday morning.

A mild heatwave is sweeping through Bangladesh, the weather department said on Thursday.
“A mild heatwave is sweeping through the districts of Cumilla, Chandpur, Jashore and Satkhira, and it may continue,” the weather department said in its bulletin on Thursday.
Besides, light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country, it added.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The weather office recorded the highest rainfall of 60mm in Khulna in 24 hours till 6am on Thursday.
The highest temperature was recorded at 36.2 degrees Celsius in Cumilla and Chandpur of Chattogram division, while the lowest temperature was recorded at 24.5 degrees in Khepupara of Barishal division.
Meanwhile, a low pressure area has formed over the East Central Bay and the adjoining North Bay. It is likely to intensify.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, the centre of the low to Assam across Southern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to the Northwest Bay, as per the bulletin.
Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate elsewhere over the North Bay, it added.

Bangladesh is reeling under a mild heatwave spell, the weather department said on Thursday.
"Mild heat wave is sweeping through Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions and the districts of Gopalgonj and Manikgonj, and it may abate from some places," the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a daily bulletin.
Besides, light to moderate rain or showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna and Barishal divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions; and at one or two places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over southern Bangladesh, it added.
The rainfall activity may increase. Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country, as per the bulletin.

The weather office recorded the highest rainfall of 35mm in Dimla of Rangpur division in 24 hours till 6am on Thursday.
The highest temperature was recorded at 37.5 degrees Celsius in Sayedpur of Rangpur division, while the lowest temperature was recorded at 26 degrees in Kutubdia of Chattogram division.
Meanwhile, a low pressure area has formed over the Northeast Bay and adjoining areas. It is likely to intensify, according to the weather department.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and strong elsewhere over the North Bay, as per the bulletin.

Mild heatwave to continue in Bangladesh
No relief is in sight as the mild heat wave sweeping through some districts of Bangladesh is likely to continue, says the weather department.
However, light to moderate rains or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
Showers are also expected to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country, the department said in its bulletin.
The mild heat wave sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi and Pabna may continue, according to the weather office.

Day and night temperatures may also remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Thursday's maximum temperature was recorded in Rajshahi at 37.5 degrees, while the minimum was recorded in Rangamati and Feni at 25 degrees.
The sun rose on Friday at 5.23am and it will set at 6.47pm.

A mild heatwave is sweeping through the districts of Pabna, Chuadanga, Khulna, Patuakahli, and Bagerhat.
The heatwave spell may continue, the weather department said Thursday.
The highest temperature today was recorded at 37.2 degrees Celsius in Khulna's Mongla, while the minimum temperature was 22.7 degrees in Chattogram's Cumilla.

However, a reprieve from the sweltering summer heat is on the way in parts of the country, as the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted showers in the eight divisions in the next 24 hours.
Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur division, it said.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged, the BMD added.
