Champions Hockey: 4 more players included in Bangladesh’s preliminary squad
Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) on Thursday included four more players in the 28-member preliminary squad of Bangladesh National Hockey team for the six-nation Hero Asian Champions Trophy (Hockey) 2021 beginning here on December 14 at Maulana Bhashani National Stadium here.
The BHF included four new players –Al Nahain Shuvo, Raju Ahmed Tapu, Abed Uddin and Razibul Hasan Rocky—in Bangladesh preliminary squad as per requirement of the national team’s Malaysian head coach Gobinathan Krishnamurthy.
The training session of Bangladesh team began on Wednesday (Dec 1) at BKSP in Savar.

Six participating countries are: India, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Pakistan and hosts Bangladesh.
India will play Korea in the opening match on Dec 14 at 3:30 pm. Bangladesh will play Malaysia at 6 pm while Pakistan will play Japan at 8:30 pm in other two opening day’s fixture.
In the remaining matches, Bangladesh will play India on Dec 15 at 3:30 pm, face Korea on Dec 17 at 8:30 pm, Japan on Dec 18 at 6 pm and Pakistan on Dec 19 at 8:30 pm.
The titans battle between India and Pakistan will be held on Jan 17 at pm 3:30 pm.
Earlier on November 28, Bangladesh Hockey Federation announced a 28-member preliminary squad for the prestigious Asian meet.

Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) on Sunday announced a 28-member preliminary squad of Bangladesh national hockey team for the six-nation Hero Asian Champions Trophy (Hockey) 2021 beginning here on January 14 at the Maulana Bhashani National Stadium here.
Participating countries are: India, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Pakistan and hosts Bangladesh.

Handball Federation honour six persons with MA Hamid Awards
Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) honoured six handball personalities--two players, two organisers, one trainer and one referee --with "M A Hamid Honourary Awards '21" at a function at National Handball Stadium in the capital Monday evening.
Handball Federation introduced the awards, named after its founding and long serving late President Col (Retd) MA Hamid to honour the famed handball players and dedicated officials considering their performances.
Senior Secretary to the Ministry of Youth and Sports M Akhter Hossain was the chief guest at the awards distribution ceremony and handed over the awards Monday evening.
BHF General Secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Executive Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar and wife of MA Hamid International Chess player Rani Hamid were also present the function, chaired BHF vice president Hasanullah Khan Rana.
Recipients of the awards are: Hosne Ara Khan, Farida Akhter Begum (Organiser), Jahanara Begum, Mong Sha Pru (Player), M Nazir Akhter (Trainer) and M Motiur Rahman (Referee).
