Business tycoon killed by grandson over property dispute
In a tragic turn of events, 86-year-old industrialist Velamati Chandrasekhara Janardhana Rao of Hyderabad was fatally stabbed by his grandson, 29-year-old Kilaru Keerthi Teja, following a heated argument over property distribution.
The incident occurred at Rao's residence, where Teja confronted his grandfather, alleging unfair asset allocation.
Reports indicate that Teja had received Rs 4 crore as his share of the ancestral property. The dispute escalated rapidly, culminating in Teja stabbing Rao over 70 times.
During the altercation, Teja's mother, Sarojini Devi, attempted to intervene and sustained injuries. She was promptly transported to a hospital and is currently receiving treatment.

Teja, who had recently returned to Hyderabad after completing his master’s degree in the United States, was visiting Rao’s residence with his mother when the confrontation took place. Authorities have arrested Teja, and an investigation is underway.
Janardhana Rao, the chairman of the Veljan Group, was a prominent industrialist and philanthropist, with contributions spanning multiple sectors, including shipbuilding, energy and industrial applications.

Habiganj housewife's throat slit over property dispute
A 30-year-old housewife has ended up murdered as a dispute over the boundary line of a house took a deadly turn Friday in Chunarughat upazila of Habiganj, Sylhet.
The victim, Ayesha Akter Poly, was married to expatriate Akter Mia of Jarulia Gozaripara under the upazila.
Locals said there had been a longstanding dispute between Poly and her husband’s step-brother Gabru Mia over the boundary separating their two houses. The victim had filed a case under Women and Children Repression and Prevention Act against her adversaries recently.

Gabru’s sons Masuk, Mamun, daughter Shefa and her husband Shamim went to Poly's house around 9.30am and quizzed her about the case.At one stage, all four allegedly stabbed Poly with meat cleavers and slit her throat to make sure she was dead after dragging her out of the house, said the locals in the neighbourhood.
They further said the victim’s eight-year-old son took shelter under bedstead and mother-in-law fled the house fearing the attackers.

Md Ali Ashraf, officer-in-charge of Chunarughat Police Station, said they rushed to the spot and recovered Poly's body.
It was sent to Habiganj Sadar Hospital for an autopsy, he said, adding that efforts are on to nab the alleged killers.
