Buttler rues lack of runs in 2nd T20 as Bangladesh seal series
England captain Joss Buttler expressed disappointment at his team's loss to Bangladesh in the second T20I in Dhaka, which cost them the series.
Speaking to the media after the match Sunday, Buttler credited Bangladesh for their performance and rued lack of runs for his team's loss.
"I thought it was an outstanding bowling display for us to take it that deep and put pressure on Bangladesh. And yeah, (it was) a different style of T20 match – low scoring. The extra 10 or 15 runs would have probably been crucial in that game," he said.
The England captain also talked about the changes in England's batting order for the match. He said the decision was made to pose different questions to the opposition and to break up the team's bank of left-handers in the middle order.
Buttler also talked about the Bangladesh pacers and praised Taskin Ahmed for his consistent performance. He added that the team was not too concerned about the pitch and that he preferred playing on a variety of wickets.
"To be honest, I like to play on a variety of wickets. If you sort of thought of a pitch that is the perfect wicket and you tried to replicate that all around the world, it'd be quite boring to watch," he said.
The third and final T20I will be played Tuesday in Dhaka.
