People suspicious about Mojnu’s involvement in rape: Ducsu VP
Vice President (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haque Nur on Thursday said people have got confused about the detained ‘rapist’ as they are now raising questions whether he is the real criminal.
He came up with the remark at a protest rally held in front of Anti-terrorism Raju Memorial Sculpture of Dhaka University in the evening.
“We don’t know what the fact is, but some people are questioning whether he’s the real culprit or its (his arrest) is just like Joj Mia drama. This is alarming for our law enforcement agencies that people are losing their trust in them,” said Nur.
Blaming the government for the incident, Nur said the government and law enforcers cannot avoid the responsibly as they have failed to protect the citizens of the country.

Case against Ducsu VP ‘unexpected’: BGSRPC
Bangladesh General Students Rights Protection Council (BGSRPC), the platform that came to the limelight by leading the quota reform movement, has termed the filing of case against Ducsu VP Nurul Haque Nur and his supporters as ‘unexpected’, as they didn’t attack or hurt anyone.
BGSRPC leaders held a press conference at the Teachers Students Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University Sunday afternoon.
Bin Yamin Mollah, joint convener of the platform, read out a written statement where they criticised DU Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani for his failure to protect students.
Bin Yamin said, "Chhatra League has created a ‘Fear Culture’ on campuses of educational institutions resorting to continuous terror. In the latest incident, they attacked Ducsu VP and others brutally. University authorities also worked in favor of the attackers by removing the CCTV footage.”
