The Australian side will be led by their veteran all-rounder Mitchell Marsh who played a crucial role in the final of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 which they eventually won. In their squad, they have prioritized experience.
The squad is very much star-studded. Some of them are among the best of the generation. It is always a daunting task to select only 15 players from such a large pool of players as Australia. Yet it seems to be one of the unmatchable ones.
Here, some of the aspects of the Australian squad will be analyzed in which they did brilliantly and in which they might have done slightly better.

Experience
One thing that the selectors have ensured is that there is no shortage of experience in the squad. If you look through the 15-man group, you will see the most familiar names of world cricket. They have been playing for really long and in almost all the franchise leagues of the world. Therefore, it is unlikely that any pressure will crumble them.
Big match performers
This has been the key for Australian cricket throughout history. They have always had some players who shine in the ultimate games that differentiate between the bests and the greats. Players like Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, David Warner, Travis Head, and even skipper Mitchell Marsh have frequently passed the test of these moments and ensured Australia’s victory. This time it is not supposed to be any different either.
Explosive batting line-up
The team is enriched with seasoned players like Travis Head, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Mitchell Marsh. One can hardly argue the solid batting line up of this squad. These players can single-handedly win matches for their teams as they have done so often. It will not be a surprising thing if they do it again in the current T20 World Cup.

Strike Bowlers
Just like the batters, the names of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Adam Zampa will give you the reassurance for this. They are some of the greatest wicket-taking bowlers of this generation. And having them together makes their bowling the deadliest in this tournamnet.
Given the way the pitches are behaving this T20 World Cup tournamnet, it will not be easy to score big and win against Australia.
Depth in every department
Any of the probable starting XI of Australia will see them having batters till at least 9 and having 7 bowlers. It‘s the volume of the depth this team have. With players like Mitchell Marsh, Marcus Stoinis, and Tim David who can act as frontline batters and can bowl for 4 overs adds to this depth. Similarly, Pat Cummins and Ashton Agar often add valuable runs late in the order after doing a fantastic job with the bowl. Therefore, at any point, their skipper won’t feel like being short of options which will ease the job for him.

Weakness of Australia Squad for the T20 World Cup 2024
However mighty they look, there is always some weakness in every team. It is not any different for this team as well.
Not including James Fraser-McGurk
It is not like not including him has weakened the side. They still have brilliant batters. However, he has been in tremendous form in the last few months in various franchise leagues. As a result, one might argue that they should have valued his form, explosiveness, and fearlessness over the likes of David Warner and Matthew Wade to add some dynamics to the team.
Lack of Spinners
It looks like a problem after the World Cup started. The pitches are behaving really slow and difficult for the batters to score. In such situation, the spinners thrive.
The options Australia have in this regard, are Adam Zampa, Ashton Agar, and Glenn Maxwell. Among them, Ashton Agar and Glenn Maxwell might not bowl full quota. However, inclusion of an extra spinner could have been a nice weapon for this team.

Key Players for Australian Squad in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
Travis Head
This cricketer had a brilliant half-year in 2024. With his fiery batting, he provided the team with a foundation for some astounding scores. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 250+ on three occasions in IPL 2024 and he had scores of 62(24), 102(41), and 89(32). These are only some of the examples of the explosiveness he brings to the side. Australia will rely on this in the whole of the World Cup.
Glenn Maxwell
There is no need to explain more about this all-rounder. His explosiveness is world-known.
He will be particularly important in this T20 World Cup because he is the only spin-bowling all-rounder on the side. Additionally, the batters are supposed to face a lot of spin bowlers against which he is a master.

Pat Cummins
It might have come as a wonder when the Australian squad was announced and Pat Cummins was not named captain. However, this talented cricketer is expected to play a big role in the team with his bowling. Besides, his leading capabilities can help Mitchell Marsh to guide the team. After winning the ICC Test Championship, ICC ODI World Cup, and leading Sunrisers Hyderabad to the finals as a captain, he is expected to excel in this role.
Adam Zampa
Adam Zampa has been the go-to spin bowler of Australia. He has entered this World Cup with great form as well. In situations, where the pitches are slow and balls are spinning, Adam Zampa is supposed to be the most crucial bowler for Australia this time.
Verdict
Australia is one of the most powerful teams who are favourite in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Despite the lack of spinners, Australia have put up a squad that is a force to reckon with. Given the strength of batters and bowlers they have in the team, they can easily be the champions once again.

Analysis of Sri Lanka Squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
The Sri Lankan squad is star-studded with some of the big names of World T20 currently. It consists of a solid bunch of players who can win games single-handedly on their day. However, this team has some definitive strengths and weaknesses which are discussed here.
Strengths Of Sri Lanka Squad
Strong bowling unit
This Sri Lankan squad carries a strong bowling unit. Their skipper Wanindu Hasaranga holds the second position in the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Ranking currently. Strike bowler Maheesh Theekshana occupies the 4th position in the same list.
Apart from that Nuwan Thushara and Matheesha Pathirana can rattle any batting line-up with their fiery toe-crushers. Allrounders Dhananjaya De Silva and Angelo Mathews can bowl pivotal overs. Dasun Shanaka is still their go-to death-over bowler, especially in close encounters. Scoring against this bowling line-up won’t be easy at all. Sri Lanka must capitalize on these assets they have.

Variety of All-rounders
The Sri Lankan squad has an abundance of genuine all-rounders who can equally contribute with both bat and ball. Angelo Mathews and Dasun Shanaka are effective medium pacers. Wanindu Hasaranga is one of the best bowlers and Dhanajaya De Silva works as a trump card as well. And all of these players play crucial roles for the team with the bat. This increased the depth and efficiency of the side which is one of their greatest strengths without a doubt.
Drawbacks Of Sri Lanka Squad
Lack of Depth in Batting
Sri Lanka have an explosive and fiery top order with batters like Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Pathum Nissanka, and Charith Asalanka. However, one problem they consistently face is their batting in the middle overs. It happens because their lower-middle order often fails to chip in. This overreliance on the top order might hurt them in the current World Cup campaign.
Non-performing Veterans
Angelo Mathews and Dasun Shanaka have a combined 184 T20Is under their belt. This kind of experience is priceless for any team. However, Sri Lanka could not generate enough return from them because of their less contribution. Dasun Shanaka only scored 139 runs in his last 10 innings averaging only around 17. His 6 wickets still cover that up.

However, Angelo Mathews had a decent year with the bat averaging 29.43 while scoring 206 runs. Yet the quality of opponents indicates that these numbers could have been better. With the experience these two bring, they have much more to contribute and if they don’t, it is unfortunate for Sri Lanka.
Key Players to Watch in Sri Lanka Squad
Wanindu Hasaranga
The current best all-rounder in the world, 2nd best bowler in the T20I format, and the 2nd highest wicket-taker ever for Sri Lanka to date. The remarks are enough to explain the importance of this team. If Sri Lanka is to succeed in this World Cup, this skipper will have to play the most pivotal role in that.
Maheesh Theekshana
Maheesh Theekshana is one of the most in-form bowlers in the world. He is the current no.4 ranked bowler in T20I format and a key figure in the Sri Lankan bowling line-up. He has 10 wickets in the last 8 games. Sri Lanka needs someone to complement Wanindu Hasaranga and have the right man for it in Maheesh Theekshana. Now it has to be his time to shine.
Read more: Analyzing Bangladesh Squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
Angelo Mathews
He is the most experienced and seasoned campaigner on this team. He is in great form this year. He is also among the all-time greatest for Sri Lanka in the shortest version of the game. Apart from that, he is the only player in this squad who was there when Sri Lanka won the trophy in 2014. His team needs that experience now more than ever.
Kusal Mendis
Kusal Mendis is the 3rd highest run-scorer ever for Sri Lanka and has a good chance of becoming 2nd. He is in great form this year being Sri Lanka’s top scorer scoring at an average of 30+ with 2 half-centuries. The tone of the innings for Sri Lanka is often set by him and he needs to do it this time as well.
Conclusion
In the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Sri Lanka is drawn in the “group of death” with Bangladesh, South Africa, Netherlands, and Nepal. They have a difficult job in hand but also have enough resources to tackle the competitors. If team Sri Lanka can mitigate their weaknesses, they might have a serious go for the title.

The senior selection committee of the BCCI announced the squad on the 30th of April. The squad will be led by the magnificent opener Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya will be his deputy. India have such a large pool of players available that it is always a testing job for the selectors to pick the best 15 for a tournament. However, the selectors did a good job at this but the ultimate result will be known after the tournament.

Strength of India Squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
The selectors of BCCI have put together a powerful squad to fight for the trophy of the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA. They have an abundance of strong zones in the team. A few of them are discussed here:
World’s Best Players
If we look at India's squad, we will see two of the top 10 batters in the world here. That includes Suryakumar Yadav, the topper in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings. Besides, Yashasvi Jaiswal is the other entrant at no.6 on the same ranking. The India squad includes Axar Patel, who holds the third position in the ICC Men’s T20I Bowling Rankings.
Furthermore, two of the top three highest run-scorers ever in the T20I format, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, are a part of this team. These two cricketers also happen to be the highest and 4th highest run-scorers respectively in the history of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Therefore, their top order seems to be consisting of the current no.1 batter, the all-time greatest, and one of the all-time greatest players of the T20I format. That is kind of a dream batting order for any team.

Excellent core of all-rounders
The middle order of India comprises players like Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel. Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are top-class all-rounders. Having them in the team not only ensures fire-power in the batting but also an effective pair of seamer and spinner. Shivam Dube can hit the ball hard and be explosive. But he can also bowl a couple of handy and game-changing overs every match. The same goes for Axar Patel but in the opposite role. He can bowl extremely well and can be effective with the bat gathering valuable runs later in the innings.
This brilliant set of all-rounders gives India a very long batting line-up and gives the captain many options while fielding. This might be the greatest differential point for India this time.
Bowling Depth
The selection committee has done a good job in selecting a variety of bowlers. Their set of bowlers for this T20 World Cup covers all types of bowlers possible. They have three express bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammad Siraj along with a medium-pacer Hardik Pandya.

Their spin department is far richer with leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav, left-arm spinners Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Right-arm off-spinner Shivam Dube. Once again this makes the work for the captain a lot easier as he can now turn things instantly with so many options.
Spin department
Their spin bowlers can be instrumental to their success in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The conditions of the West Indies and the USA provide a lot of room for the spinners to thrive. They have an exceptional quality of spinners for every type of spin bowling, The opponents would have to go through a testing period for it.
Reserves
There is no denying India’s excellent pipeline in world cricket. Therefore, they always have suitable reserves ready for them. this time it was no different. If any of the top-order batter gets injured, Shubman Gill is there to replace them who was the best batter as per many last year.
Similar is the case for Rinku Singh if any of the middle-order batters go out and for Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan in case of injury to one of their bowlers, especially seamers. Therefore, they have less stress for injuries than others.

Weakness of India Squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
As the pipeline strength of India Squad is already mentioned, there will always be players in the discussion who could have been included and who did not. Even though they put up a good squad, there are some drawbacks to be mentioned:
Exclusion of Rinku Singh
Even though they have a brilliant hard-hitter in the form of Shivam Dube, many feel not taking Rinku Singh is somewhat unjust given the way he has been performing in the last couple of years. Regardless of whoever was selected, Rinku Singh might have given the extra gear that this team needed.
Form
They have brilliant individuals in their squad without a doubt. However, their form is a big concern. Rishabh Pant is coming back after almost 1.5 years in the team since the potential career-threatening injury. There has never been doubt about the IPL version of Sanju Samson but he couldn’t shine in international cricket as per expectation. His career average is around 18 only. In the last 8 matches for India, he scored only 123 averaging 20.5. The form-related issue also stands for the skippers Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya.

Not being position-specific
It is a blessing for a team whose players can play in a lot of positions and roles. Yet India could have done better here. For example, they have only two openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal. If one does not click, they do not have an alternative.
Virat Kohli is a great option for that but it is not sure if India would like to compromise his performance in no.3 position. Therefore, maybe it would have been better to pick someone like Abhishek Sharma or Ruturaj Gaikwad. Or maybe Shubman Gill.
Similarly, they have no specific expert players in positions no. 4 and 5. The potential candidates are Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant but both are used to playing in position 3 or 4. Therefore, the question remains whether picking someone like Tilak Verma, Rajat Patidar, or Shreyash Iyer was better or not.
No-off-spinner
Among all the variations they possess in their bowling, having no genuine off-spinner is surely a big miss. Considering the condition, it would have been quite influential for them.

Key Players to Watch
Virat Kohli
It is not possible to write about India’s key players and not keep Virat Kohli in it. He is the highest-ever run-scorer in the history of Men’s T20I format cricket and in the ICC T20I World Cup as well. He was the highest run-scorer in the recently finished IPL by some margin and almost single-handedly took RCB to the play-offs. As a result, if India is going to win this T20 World Cup, he has to play a crucial role in it.
Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja is the trump card for India. He is a handy spinner and a handy slogger as well. Having him in the team gives a great balance. He is one of the potential match-winners for India and it might be the same this time also.
Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah is supposed to lead India’s bowling attack this time. As a result, there are huge responsibilities on him to ensure India’s victory. He is the right man to do that as well. He picked 20 wickets in IPL 2024 playing only 13 games and almost carried the bowling of Mumbai Indians alone. This time it does not need to be like that as India is already packed with brilliant bowlers. Still, he has to play the main role in it.
Read more: AI takes big stage in ICC’s T20 World Cup coverage
Rohit Sharma
The skippers' influence goes beyond question in this team. He did not have a great IPL and was not in great form as per his standards. He only played 3 T20I matches since the last T20I World Cup which makes his inclusion doubted. However, he has a century in his last T20I supporting his class. There has been a lot of talk going around him and this is the best moment for him to answer all of them.
Final Words
Like every time, the India squad are going to participate in the 2024 ICC T20 Men’s World Cup tournament being the favorites for the title. They have built a strong team in both batting and bowling. However, there are a few questions about the inclusions. Nonetheless, India are looking to win the trophy in this tournament.

Copa America 2024: Brazil Squad Analysis
Brazil lost the chance to win back-to-back Copa America after becoming 2nd best to Argentina at home in 2021. They will now look to regain their glory. For that, they have announced their 23-man squad ahead of Copa America 2024 which will kick off on the 20th of June.
Brazil Squad for Copa America 2024
Goalkeepers: Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Éderson (Manchester City), Bento (Athletico-PR).
Defenders: Danilo (Juventus), Yan Couto (Girona), Guilherme Arana (Atlético-MG), Wendell (FC Porto), Beraldo (Paris Saint-Germain), Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain), Gabriel Magalhães (Arsenal), and Militão (Real Madrid).
Midfielders: Andreas Pereira (Fulham), Bruno Guimarães (Newcastle), Douglas Luiz (Aston Villa), João Gomes (Wolverhampton), and Lucas Paquetá (West Ham).

Analysis of the Brazil Squad for Copa America 2024
The new coach of Brazil, Dorival Júnior, has opted to go on the mission of winning Copa America with a fresh squad. As a result, many familiar and experienced faces over the years for Brazil have been left out of the team. The list includes Thiago Silva, Alex Sandro, Dani Alves, and Fabinho, the players Dorival did not pick from the squad for World Cup 2022.
He also left out some players because of form and injury issues. Therefore, star players like Neymar, Casemiro, Richarlison, and Gabriel Jesus make the list of prominent absentees from the squad.
The wealth of experience missing in the squad can be a huge miss for Brazil as it is hard to replace. However, it has also allowed Brazil to test and get new winners for their team. Young Prodigy Endrick and Savio have been called up along with Yan Couto, Douglas Luiz, Beraldo, and João Gomes after impressive performances this season.
Their attack on paper is one of the best in the world currently. Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo are on their way to leading Real Madrid to their 15th UCL and League-UCL double. Savinho has been performing brilliantly to take Girona to the UCL this season. He is one of the best dribblers in Europe this season as well. Endrick already has 2 goals in his first 92 minutes for Brazil. Martinelli, Raphinha, and Evanilson can also shine on their day. Their attack looks secure and blazing. It is the strongest unit of their team.
Their defense also has a solid starting unit. Marquinhos and Gabriel Magalhães are a tested duo for them and quite reliable as well following their performances at PSG and Arsenal this season. Due to their form this season, Wendell and Yan Couto are possible starting full-back candidates. However, their backup of these players might be a point to worry about. Militão has been out for almost the whole season through injury. Beraldo is a solid CB but quite young as well. Yet their defense looks good to go.
Goalkeeping is one of the least concerns for them having two of the best in business Alisson Becker and Éderson fighting for the spot.
The midfield has been a problem for quite some years now for Brazil. Even after having some of the best players in the world, it just doesn’t seem to click for them. The coaches also often fail to figure out the best combination of midfield. The concern remains this time too.
Though they have names like Bruno Guimarães, Andreas Pereira, Douglas Luiz, and Lucas Paquetá in their arsenal who can create plenty from the midfield, they don’t have a specialist defensive midfielder to play the destroyer role in the team. This might be a big issue for them in the tournament.
Bruno Guimarães has been starting regularly for them since the World Cup and is supposed to lead their midfield this time. He might join with two of Douglas Luiz, Andreas Pereira, and Lucas Paquetá. Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see what combination will Dorival Junior choose for the Copa America 2024.

Key Players from Brazil Squad of Copa America 2024
Alisson Becker
The goalkeepers always have a big role to play in such tournaments. Alisson Becker would have to do the same for Brazil. They should pass the group stage ahead of Columbia, Paraguay, and Costa Rica. But the knock-out stage can be tricky with the tie-breaker equation. Alisson has to be the biggest savior of Brazil here.
Bruno Guimarães
With the absence of Casemiro, Bruno Guimarães has an enormous responsibility to lead and carry the Brazilian midfield. He is capable in every sense of doing the job. However, Brazil will largely depend on him to dominate the middle of the park which has not been working for quite some time now. Therefore, he will be a differentiating player for Brazil this time.
Vinícius Júnior
Vinícius Júnior is arguably the best winger in the world currently. He is going to be the spearhead of the Brazilian attack. After leading Real Madrid to the La Loga title this season and on the verge of winning the UEFA Champions League with 32 goal contributions, not many people would doubt him being the force to win the Copa America 2024 for Brazil.
Rodrygo
Rodrygo was the helping hand of Vinícius Júnior for what Real Madrid has achieved this season. He has overall 26 goal contributions and played a massive part in their success. If he can pair up with Vinícius Júnior for Brazil as he does at Real Madrid, great things are waiting for Brazil in this Copa America 2024.
Endrick
Endrick might be the trump card for Brazil. The new young prodigy of this great footballing nation has. He has taken the world by storm after scoring against England and Spain in back-to-back games this March. He scored 2 goals in 92 minutes of game-time for Brazil. With Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo, he can cause havoc on the opponent's defense which is the best output for Brazil.

Brazil have been in a shaky position since the 2022 FIFA World Cup. They have played 11 games of which they have won only 4 while losing 5. They scored 19 goals but conceded 17 too. Additionally, the most productive player of the squad was Neymar in these games who will be unavailable for this game. Although, Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo are capable of filling that void. Yet they are not providing as much as fans would hope for them to.
Additionally, despite having a solid defensive core, their goal-conceded ratio is alarming which raises a question about Brazil’s defense. Adding to that, their midfield is not very strong this time. At least compared to the rivals, they may fall short in this department which can cause them woes.
Compared to the solid performances of the teams like Argentina and Uruguay, they are not the top favorites this time. However, they should easily march on to the semi-finals of how the draw has gone. From there on, it is anybody's game. And you never write off Brazil, or the players they have this time.
Verdict
Brazil are supposed to go to the semis of Copa America 2024 quite comfortably. Considering the depth in attack, Brazil is one of the best in the world, and the defense created by in-form defenders remains their biggest strength. If these players click well, Brazil are very much on course for their 10th Copa America title.

Even though Travis Head is injured, there is still Mitchell Marsh, a super-talented player. He can give the Australian team a powerful start with his awesome batting skills when he opens the game.
The Australian team's strong suit is definitely its batting. There is a lot of depth, with skilled hitters all the way down to the ninth spot in the lineup. David Warner, who is in great form, is geared up for his last ODI tournament and has given an average performance in the first two matches of the World Cup. But he still has a chance to give his best. Warner finding his form ahead of the 2023 World Cup is a positive sign for Australia. Given his extensive experience and impressive batting record, the team hopes he will put a lot of pressure on the opposing bowlers.
Steven Smith and Glenn Maxwell are two key players with the experience of leading Australia to victory in the 2015 World Cup. While they have not had a stellar year in terms of runs, underestimating them could be a mistake for other teams.

An aggressive bowling attack is another strength of Australia. There is no doubt that Australia has one of the top-notch pace attacks in the 2023 World Cup, led by Mitchell Starc. Starc is a force to be reckoned with, boasting an exceptional record in World Cups. With an impressive collection of 39 wickets in 17 matches, the 33-year-old is the fifth-highest wicket-taker in World Cup history. Starc is just 19 wickets away from surpassing Glenn McGrath's record as the bowler with the most wickets in the 50-over World Cup.
In addition to the usual fast bowlers, Green and Stoinis can also contribute with the ball. Stoinis has taken 44 wickets in 64 one-day matches. Similarly, Green has impressed with 16 wickets in 21 games played for the national team, proving to be a valuable asset in the bowling department.
While Australia has a competitive edge in batting and fast-blowing, they are lagging behind in the spin department. Indian pitches are famous for favoring spinners. Adam Zampa stands out as the go-to spinner in the squad, known for taking crucial wickets and keeping the runs in check. Unfortunately, Ashton Agar is unavailable due to a calf injury. If Zampa doesn't perform in any of the World Cup matches, Australia might face a shortage of quality options in the spin department.

Key Australian Players to Watch in World Cup 2023
Marnus Labuschagne
Marnus Labuschagne, the reigning ICC Test Player of the Year, has smoothly adapted to the ODI format, showcasing his batting excellence. Accumulating over 1,000 runs in ODIs in 2023, Labuschagne's outstanding form highlights his considerable talent. Adam Zampa
Adam Zampa is the sole specialist spinner in Australia's World Cup squad. Since the start of 2022, he has claimed 46 so far wickets in the 50-over format. Zampa played a key role in Australia's ODI series win against India in March 2023.
Despite facing a loss with an expensive spell that led to an unfortunate record in a recent ODI loss to South Africa in September 2023, the 31-year-old bounced back impressively. In the lead-up to the World Cup, he redeemed himself by taking six wickets in his last three matches before the tournament.

Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc is renowned as one of the fastest bowlers globally, and his ability to grab key wickets is well-known. In the 2019 World Cup, he showcased this talent by securing 27 wickets, earning him the Player of the Tournament award. Starc is determined to replicate that success in the upcoming 2023 World Cup.
David Warner
The iconic Australian opener, David Warner, is appearing in the last World Cup of their career and might announce his retirement from ODI cricket afterward. Warner holds a key role in the Australian playing XI, and his impressive stats in limited-overs cricket in India significantly boost the team's confidence. So, he needs to give his regular performance to keep Australia’s hope alive.
Final Words
The Australian team clinched their first World Cup title in India back in 1987, defeating England at Eden Gardens. So, Australian fans are hopeful that Pat Cummins can lead the team to a similar victory on November 19th at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium. But, the two losses have already distracted their track. However, Aussies still have a chance to come back. While Cummins has shown his leadership skills in other formats, he has yet to prove himself in the ODI format. With a strong squad at their disposal, Australians aim to secure their sixth World Cup title, setting high expectations among their supporters.

Analysis of Pakistan ODI Squad for ICC World Cup 2023
Upon reviewing the squad, it appears to be fairly decent, but not without its weaknesses. A notable concern, aside from Naseem's injury, revolves around the inclusion of Hasan Ali, who has been absent from Pakistan's white-ball setup for a considerable period. This decision, however, might be justified by the desire to incorporate experience into the team.
The injury of Naseem Shah has stirred considerable discussion, given his status as one of the top pacers in world cricket, not just within Pakistan. Despite this setback, Pakistan maintains a promising chance to secure victory in the World Cup. The team consists of a tough top three, and their pace bowling arsenal, featuring talents like Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, remains robust. Additionally, the presence of a skilled spinner, Shadab, who can also be useful with the bat, adds further depth to their lineup.

A crucial aspect to consider is that none of the Pakistani cricketers in the current squad have experienced competitive cricket in India. This poses a significant challenge as the Indian pitch condition is different from Dubai or Sri Lanka.
However, Pakistan’s top order is the biggest strength of the team. The top order comprises three high-caliber ODI players Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, and Imam ul-Haq. Babar Azam, often greeted as the poster boy of Pakistan, stands out as the fastest to reach 5000 ODI runs and currently holds the prestigious title of the number 1 ranked ODI batter in the world. Renowned for his ability to accumulate runs, Babar Azam is a prolific run-scorer in this format. However, Babar could not help significantly in the first two matches. He has the capability to stand out in crucial matches.
Additionally, Fakhar Zaman, the opener, is a serial match-winner who played a key role in Pakistan's triumph in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 with his memorable century against India. He holds the distinction of being the only Pakistani player to achieve three scores of 180 or more in ODIs. His remarkable innings of 194 in South Africa is regarded as one of the greatest ODI knocks of all time. Joining him as the opening partner is the consistently reliable Imam ul-Haq, who has demonstrated a keen ability to score runs in ODI cricket. With five half-centuries in his last ten innings and an ODI batting average around 50, Imam ul-Haq also secured a position in the top 10 ODI batting rankings.

While Fakhar Zaman is Pakistan’s one of the top strengths, his form before the World Cup poses a significant concern for Pakistan, as the left-handed batsman has struggled to make an impact in the last 7-8 games before the tournament. His performance will be crucial for Pakistan's campaign in the upcoming matches.
Moving to the middle order, it features Mohammad Rizwan, Agha Salman, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Shadab Khan as the all-rounder. While Mohammad Rizwan's overall ODI record may not be stellar, he has demonstrated good form this year and aims to sustain this momentum. Agha Salman, however, faced a downturn in the Asia Cup, placing added pressure on him to deliver. Iftikhar Ahmed, possessing ample experience, is expected to play at no. 6 and 7 positions for Pakistan, but consistency will be key. Shadab Khan, the all-rounder, adds depth to the lineup and is set to play a crucial role in both batting and bowling capacities.
Further, fielding remains a significant concern for Pakistan, and their poor fielding has been a contributing factor to several defeats in the past. It is imperative for them to identify their second or third-best fielder after Shadab Khan and address this aspect to enhance their overall performance.

Key Players to Watch in the Pakistan Men’s ODI Squad for ICC World Cup 2023
Babar Azam
The captain of Pakistan, who also stands out as their most prolific run-scorer in recent years, is a key player. Current number 1 player in ICC Men's ODI rankings. Babar has consistently secured a position among the top five batters in the format for the past six years. Despite a relatively modest performance in the recently-concluded Asia Cup by his own high standards, scoring 207 runs in four innings and falling short of leading his team into the final, Pakistan's prospects of qualifying for the World Cup semifinals will be tied to Babar's batting form and on-field decision-making.
Shaheen Afridi
Similar to Babar Azam’s performance in batting, Shaheen Afridi's spells with the ball will play a pivotal role in their ability to dismiss batters on the high-scoring pitches in India. Having debuted internationally at the age of 18 in 2018, Afridi has quickly emerged as Pakistan's main bowling spearhead, frequently securing a position in the top 10 ICC bowlers' rankings.
Mohammad Rizwan
A true fighter in every sense, Mohammad Rizwan has seized every opportunity that has crossed his path as a batter and wicketkeeper. Starting as an opener in T20Is, he has transitioned seamlessly into the number four position in ODIs. With fifty and a hundred in the two recent matches in World Cup 2023, he stands as the most in-form batter for Pakistan at the moment. His brilliance was evident in the 131 runs against Sri Lanka, where he not only reached the milestone but also stayed through to the end of the game.

Haris Rauf
In the absence of Naseem, he will need to pose an even more significant role than he already does for Pakistan, particularly in the middle and death overs. And he has been doing his role well, as he grabbed 5 wickets in the first two matches of the World Cup 2023.
Final Words
Pakistan aims to grab the 2023 ICC Men's ODI World Cup. Despite recent challenges, including Naseem Shah's injury and potential hindrance of inconsistency, the team remains steadfast with a stable and experienced lineup. The bowling attack demonstrates competitiveness, and the batting lineup possesses depth in spin. Identifying the right formula for success becomes crucial at this stage. If they can effectively implement a strategic game plan, Pakistan men's ODI squad has the potential to clinch the trophy, marking their victory after 31 years since their last victory in 1992.

Analysis of Bangladesh ODI Squad
Heading into the 2023 World Cup, Bangladesh is positioned as the underdog; however, they possess the capability to challenge the tournament favourites. Throughout this year, their performance in ODIs has been respectable, securing eight victories out of 20 matches, and one didn’t have a winner. Before the Asia Cup 2023, the captaincy responsibilities were handed over to Shakib Al Hasan, a decision prompted by Tamim Iqbal's fitness concerns.
Now that Tamim Iqbal is left out of the World Cup, fans are not seeing the Tamim-Litton pair in the opening. However, the absence of Tamim may not hamper Bangladesh’s performance. This year, Tamim Iqbal played 11 ODIs for Bangladesh and scored 283 runs. He did not have a significant contribution in most of the matches. His highest score in 2023 was 69 runs against Ireland at Chelmsford on May 14, 2023. Since Bangladesh is starting the World Cup with a balanced team, Tigers can do well without Tamim.

The change in leadership could prove beneficial for the Bangladeshi team, considering Shakib's standing as arguably the best player in the squad. Renowned for leading from the front with his exceptional all-rounder skills, the veteran is expected to bring a fighting spirit to the team in the upcoming competition. Under their stylish all-rounder, Bangladesh aims to show some power against other tough opponents.
Bangladesh has landed in India for the 2023 World Cup with a well-balanced squad. The team comprises a mix of experienced players and promising newcomers, a combination that holds potential advantages. The veterans like Shakib, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Mahmudullah take charge and motivate emerging talents such as Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Shoriful Islam, and Hasan Mahmud to deliver their best for the team.

Strengths
Bangladesh remains competitive in cricket due to its proficient spin-bowling attack. Shakib Al Hasan's dual role as an all-rounder provides a crucial balance, particularly with his strategic bowling. Supported by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the team benefits from a blend of off-break and left-arm spin. Shakib's experience, especially in Indian conditions, and impressive World Cup track record make him pivotal for key matches in subcontinental settings.
Weakness
Heading to the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, several teams, including Bangladesh, are dealing with injuries. Ebadot Hossain, a key fast bowler for Bangladesh, has been sidelined due to a significant knee injury, posing a substantial setback. Despite the team's management expressing the desire to include Tamim Iqbal in the squad, a persistent back injury has ultimately prevented his inclusion in the final lineup.
The Tigers' passionate displays are admirable, but their ability to control emotions during critical moments is crucial. Past controversies, like animated celebrations and verbal conflicts, raise concerns.

Also, Bangladesh occasionally lacks a winning mentality, exemplified by Shakib Al Hasan's prior comment. Shifting towards a confident belief in winning, rather than a defensive approach, is vital for success in the upcoming games.
Key Players in Bangladesh ODI World Cup 2023
Shakib Al Hasan

However, Taskin got 1 wicket in the World Cup match against Against se.
Final Words
The Bangladesh cricket squad possesses considerable talent and the potential to make a strong showing in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. Nonetheless, there have been instances where the team appears to lack unity. If each player maximizes their individual talents, Bangladesh stands a chance of causing an upset in the tournament.
